Introduction:

Dr Hee Limin has commenced a one-year joint-appointment with ARI and the Department of Architecture with effect from 1 May 2008.

She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore and has also taught as a Teaching Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She leads the Urban Studies Group at the Department of Architecture at the University.

Dr Hee obtained her Doctor of Design degree from Harvard University in 2005, previously having pursued a Masters of Arts in Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. As Registered Architect in Singapore, she has built projects on a broad scale, ranging institutional buildings to infrastructural and public space projects.

Her research interests include sustainable cities, Asian urbanism, public spaces, and design pedagogy. She is co-chair of GASS 5 (Great Asian Streets Symposium) on the theme of Future Asian Space. She is currently the Principal Investigator for a University-funded research project on Asian waterfronts. Her current research on sustainable architecture and urbanism has been a collaborative effort with the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and has been the subject of a traveling exhibition that was shown in major cities in Asia and Europe including Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, and Madrid.
